Breakdown Cover

Most of us don't realise how much we rely on our vehicles until the unexpected happens. But according to a new survey by Direct Line Breakdown, British motorists will break down an average of 20 times in their driving life and are likely to be stranded a minimum of once every three years.

Although not compulsory, breakdown cover ensures that a trained mechanic is only a phone call away, providing much-needed peace of mind.

There are a number of different levels of cover and some policies will insure the vehicle itself, whilst others cover the policyholder whilst travelling as a driver or passenger with any vehicle. Some car insurance policies will also offer breakdown insurance as an added option.
