What would happen if you died or became too ill to work? Would your dependants be able to cope financially? Life insurance, also called term assurance, provides your family and loved ones with financial security should something happen to you.

There are a number of life insurance products designed specifically to provide financial help if the worst should happen. There are three main types of cover, each offering different benefits.

• Cover which pays out a lump sum and/or income if you die
• Cover which pays out a lump sum and/or income if you become critically ill
• Cover which provides a replacement income if you are unable to work because of illness or accident
